Trauma Therapy

Heal from painful experiences in a safe, caring space that helps you rebuild your sense of safety and inner resilience.
Trauma Therapy
Online & in person Confidential, judgement-free care

Some experiences stay with us long after they are over. A painful childhood, a loss, an accident, a betrayal, or something you have never told anyone. You may look fine on the outside while feeling tense, numb or on edge inside. Trauma can follow you long after the event itself. It may show up as anxiety, nightmares, sudden anger, numbness, or a constant feeling of being on guard. These are not signs of weakness. They are your mind and body's way of trying to protect you.

Our trauma therapy offers a calm, unhurried space where you set the pace. We work gently, helping you feel steady in the present before we look at what has happened, so healing never feels overwhelming.

How we can help

  • Understanding how trauma affects your thoughts, emotions and body

  • Grounding and calming skills for flashbacks, panic and difficult memories

  • Processing painful experiences safely, at a pace that feels right for you

  • Rebuilding trust, self-worth and a sense of control over your life

Who it is for

Anyone affected by a distressing experience, whether a single event such as an accident, assault or loss, or longer-term experiences like childhood adversity, abuse or living through conflict.

What to expect

Your first session is a chance to share what brings you here and what you hope will change. Together we agree on a plan, and you are always free to pause, slow down or ask questions along the way.

Our Trauma Therapy uses different psychological modalities such as:

  • Trauma-Focused CBT: helps you understand how past events shape your thoughts and reactions, and gently reshapes unhelpful patterns.

  • EMDR: a structured approach that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they lose their intensity.

  • Somatic and grounding techniques: teach your body to settle, using breath, movement and sensory tools.

  • Narrative Therapy: lets you tell your story in your own words and separate who you are from what happened to you.

  • Inner child work: nurtures the parts of you that were hurt early and still need care.

  • A phased, paced approach: we start with safety and stability before going deeper, so you are never pushed faster than you can handle.

You are not what happened to you. Healing is possible.
